Hi! I’ve been posting for a couple years around the blogosphere as “karmardav” or “karma.” Someone once shortened my karmardav user name to Karma and I like it! My real first name is Karen. I am a happily married mother of two teenaged girls. Along with my husband and daughters, I share my home with a cat and two dogs. We live a pretty average life in a pretty average town.
The family on vacation in Maine last summer (2009)
I decided to add a couple blurbs from my first post “Why a Blog” in case I get any new readers that may be interested in why I do this blog:
I love reading comments about what people like, but even more so, how to improve. Two years ago I did a project that many digital photographers have done : Project 365. In this project, you make yourself take at least one photo every day. Doesn’t sound all that difficult, but for me it was. Finding something new and interesting to shoot every day was quite the challenge. When I did that, I posted my shots on Flickr . It is my hope that through this blog, I might be able to have the opportunity to interact with others who may share my interest. I will always welcome constructive criticism even though photography is but a hobby for me. Maybe more than a hobby – perhaps an “enthusiam.” Photography will be my main reason for doing this blog, but I may decide to post now and then on other things that interest me such as : my family and the trials of raising two teenaged daughters, my dogs, the Boston Red Sox, quilting, cooking experiments or any other thoughts that pop into my mind.
Hey Karen, feel free to delete this after you’ve read. I couldn’t find your email address anywhere. I go to the Springfield Farmer’s Market. It’s on Tuesday’s at Forest Park from 12:30-6 or 6:30. Parking is free if you tell them you are there for the Farmer’s Market. Lots and lots of good stuff from fruits and veggies to prepared foods to free range meats, plants, soaps, and of course, kettle korn.

Hi Karen,
I discovered my joy in digital photography quite by accident as I began digging myself out from the years of rubble, check out my about page if you like. A couple months ago I took the plunge and purchased my first SLR camera. I have been enjoying exploring my world with it. Next month I will be participating in a digital photography course being hosted by the appalachian mountain club down in Delaware. 365 sounds like a true challenge. Happy to have discovered your blog…we must be neighbors of sorts. I’m in CT. See you around.

Well, hello there and thanks for taking the time to pop over to my blog! I promise to come over and have a look at your place when I have the chance. CT isn’t too far away from me. My town is just outside Springfield. Somers/Enfield are a short drive away.
