Much to her surprise and dismay, the owl carrying her letter for admission to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry got hopelessly lost in its voyage across the Atlantic Ocean. Denied the chance to perfect her magical skills as an 11-year-old, Sarah often found herself running as quickly as she could and trying to fly, and avidly following any news she could find involving quidditch matches. At the age of 17, she came as close as she ever would to flying without the aid of a broom….

Real Story
I took this photo at Sarah’s final home track meet. She competed in long jump and triple jump and managed to get quite a bit of air – which I enjoyed photographing. It was rather bittersweet, seeing my senior girl compete for the last time.

  1. Just as long as she remembers to watch out for the bludgers. Those things can hurt.

  4. Great picture of Sarah “flying”. Don’t like the thought of her flying of to Boston though.
