Black and White Challenge Day 4

Here is a photo I took for this challenge. I was looking for some texture and interest. As northern dwellers know well, it has been a long winter, and spring is slow to take over. Mud and brown grass are appearing, but we are still waiting for the snow to recede.

birdbath

I left my birdbath outside all winter. Not on purpose! Just by the time I thought of taking it in, it was too late. It seems to have survived. Hopefully the repeated freezing and thawing of water will not have caused any damage.

  1. Love how the bird bath is blue in the middle of the B&W image.

You’re lucky. We still have two feet (at least) of snow on our lawn. Normally there would be no snow at all …

    • Thank you Sybil.
I agree it is dreadful that there is still snow at all hanging around. Hoping for lots of melting around here – it was in the 50’s (F) today, 60’s expected tomorrow.

  2. The blue of the birdbath is a welcome spot of color in the midst of the remains of winter. Close your eyes and picture the future flowers popping up.

  4. I love that shade of blue, and agree with everyone else. It’s wonderful against the backdrop of black & white and melting snow.

    • Thanks Robin. Snow is finally disappearing! The snow in the picture is gone but there’s still a large snow bank at the end of my driveway😦
