Kathy over at Lake Superior Spirit did a blog post today about following your feet. I followed my feet over here to my computer to write a blog post this evening without really knowing what I wanted to write about. Then I saw that little comment icon lit up in the corner of my WordPress screen. I clicked and found Kathy had replied to my comment. Here is our little exchange:

My feet directed me to get a pedicure today. Iโm glad I acknowledged them! They often itch and whine and complain that I donโt take them to enough interesting places. I try to console them with a new pair of sandals. ๐

How interesting, Karma! My mom and I were just talking about pedicures this past week. Neither of us have ever had one. Your feet must be VERY happy with you. You will have to tell them that next time they whine or complain. (Although after your summer vacation perhaps they will be complacent for a whileโฆ)

Itโs a nice treat for feet โ you should let yours indulge themselves some time! ๐
Then I started thinking back over the summer. As I said, my feet do have a tendency to whine that they don’t get taken too many places, but then I as I scrolled through my Flickr photos, I realized perhaps Kathy was right – they did have a nice summer vacation.
They enjoyed lounging in my favorite chair:
Taking in the morning sunshine:
Visiting the beach during our camping trip:
Having a dip in the ocean in Maine:
and then today, as we begin Labor Day weekend, the weekend that feels like the end of summer (though technically there are still 3 more summer weekends) these tootsies were treated to a professional pedicure:
They got that new pair of sandals this week too.
They really shouldn’t complain so much.
In my view, your toes have quite a good life and should complain silently, if at all. Especially now that they have new – and really cute- sandals to offer them a bit of shelter. Mine are treated to occasional pedicures in the summer and in cold weather months are sheltered from public view, along with my winter legs.

I think they will be quiet for a bit… until, at least, they have to be all wrapped up again against the cold weather. They really dislike that! ๐
Thanks Carol.

Look where your feet led you, Karma! I love your pictures. That’s what I would have done for my post, given enough time. Taken many different views of the nice feet. I laughed to see that you posted our exchange verbatim. Funny! Have lots of blogs to read this weekend, to catch up. So shall probably be back for more reading. The feet want to walk right now but the head is telling them it’s raining. Wonder who will win out?

Thanks Kathy – and thanks for inspiring a blog post looking back at summer from the feet’s perspective! ๐

Love this post, Karma! I’ve done many a post about my feet. Poor things haven’t had a pedicure in over a year. That last color on your toes is wonderful. ๐

Thanks Robin! I rather like that last color a lot too! A recent purchase ๐

I think your feet should not complain at all! In fact they seem somewhat spoiled to me….though mine did get one pedicure this summer…no photos though. Remind me to take one tomorrow..

Lol, Dawn. I think my feet would say they are in fact not spoiled because I love to “torture” them by wearing heels all the time! ๐

Your toes must be back at school, Karma! I came over to see if you’d written another blog post lately (might have missed a notice.) Have a great year!

Yup the toes have been busy back at school. I had it in my head to write a blog post this weekend but the blogging muse has been quiet.
