Theme for Summer Day 6 : “Purge”
Purge

It came about kind of suddenly. I was putting laundry away and realized I was having a lot of trouble fitting things into my drawers and my closet. I haven’t probably cleared away everything that needs to go, but I put a huge dent in it today. I got rid of things that no longer fit, were shapeless or worn out, or that I hadn’t worn in over a year. Felt good! I’d like to show you a picture of a neat, organized closet, but that hasn’t happened yet. You probably wouldn’t believe I really threw things out if I showed it to you!

  1. I used to do this every spring and fall – back when I worked and lived where CHOC (Children’s Hospital of Orange County) picked donations at my doorstep. I was looking at a few of the things in my closet this morning that have seen much better days thinking it’s about due for a clean out again. In the fall, I think.

    • One rainy day this summer, I think I will get more aggressive with that closet of mine, lol!

  2. Oh yes, I have a good clean out of my old clothes every season, it’s become a habit now. And it does feel good! 🙂

      • Yes! I may only get rid of one or two items, but if they aren’t being used or worn, they go.

  3. Since I retired I pretty much dress like a slob ! T-shirts, jeans, long sleeve shirts … most of it bought a ValuVillage (2nd hand clothing store). Closet is pretty bare to begin with … lol

    • I imagine I will dress that way as well when I am retired too Sybil – but I’m sure I will want to hang on to a few pretty, girly things! 🙂

  4. Good job, Karma! A purge can feel so good. We can feel so much lighter.
