Hearts ‘n’ Flowers

Wow, it is June already! This is going to be a crazy busy month around here with prom, graduation, recital, and the end of school all coming up. I was trying to think about a photo hunt for this month since everyone enjoys them so much, but I also didn’t know if I could really do it with everything else that is happening this month. I was on Facebook today when I found an idea.

Monthly-Photo-Challenge-I-Heart-Faces-1-Photo-30-Days

The fine ladies over at I Heart Faces posted this interesting photo challenge over on their page. If you click that link, you can read about all the different ways you can participate in their photo challenge. There is a great variety, and rules are pretty loosey-goosey: participate as much or as little as you like. Do it every day, once a week or whatever you’d like.

So here is what I am proposing to you: since the nice keepers of the web page said we could feel free to share their graphic so that lots of people could participate, I’m inviting you to play along with them and/or with me. Choose as many or as few of these words that you’d like to photograph. Make one big post or as many smaller posts as you would like, following the dates the ladies layed out or not, and leave me a link in the comments of this post. If you wish to participate with the I Heart Faces folks, check out the directions in the link above. I’ll make the deadline for posting links to my blog July 1st, in case you’d like to do the day-by-day challenge.

Playing along with the photos of the day, here’s a picture of me from a day when it was NOT 90 degrees outside like it is today:

I have no idea how much I will keep up with this challenge myself – I’m going to try to do as many as possible, but I’m sure there will be some days when it just won’t happen.
I’ve also got some more flowers in bloom to share with you.

  1. Looks like fun! I’ll print and do as many as I can, probably in one post. Or two. Or one a week. Who knows?

    • Fun is the whole reason! Do whatever you like Carol, and I’ll look forward to seeing it.

  2. I like the ‘I Heart Faces’ website you reference. Still looking around over there, quite a lot of great stuff. This looks like it could be fun. I’m not always that structured but will try to play along as best I can. Love the pics of the flowers, the English Daisy one is my favorite.

    • I agree Mike – I haven’t finished checking out the site myself, but it does look quite interesting. I’m not very structured either, which was why I liked the looseness of the “rules” for this.
Thank you Mike – this is a great time of year in the flower beds.

  3. This looks like fun, Karma. I’m sure I’ll do a few of them. This might be a good one for a collage, something I haven’t done in a while. Your flowers are beautiful, and so is your self-portrait. 🙂

    • I was thinking a collage would be a great idea for this one. I’m sure I’ve asked you before, but refresh my memory if you don’t mind: what program do you use for creating your collages?
      Thank you Robin!

      • I use Picasa. It’s the easiest one I’ve found.

  12. […] And our pool has been returned to up-and-running status: It was a hot and nasty job, but we got it completed with the help of the kids. Unfortunately, we did not get it completed without an injury, dang it! Lovely, isn’t it? Actually, I am extremely grateful that’s all that it is – a bruise, a little swelling, small cuts. It happened when our pool ladder collapsed with me on it! I was climbing out of the empty pool after laying out the new liner in the center. When I turned to go down the outside of the ladder it gave and tumbled forward into the pool, taking the side of the pool and me down with it. Parts of the ladder crashed on to my foot. Hurt like a son-of-a-”B” at the time! I feel pretty lucky, actually, that is all that it was – very happy not to be spending the summer in a cast. Well, I need to get moving on my errands for today. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and be sure to leave me links to your June-Photo-Hunt-Thingy in the comments of this post! […]
