Karma's When I Feel Like It Blog

Stream-of-Consciousness-Blogging…

It is raining here today…cold for May 25th…”the rain, rain, rain, came down, down, down, in rushing rising rivlets, til the water crept out of its bed and crept right into Piglet’s!”…I should write a blog post to pass the time on this rainy day…really wish I was outside planting the veggie garden…what could I write a blog post about?

Mmmmm, chocolate…that chocolate fountain I borrowed for Meghan’s graduation party looks very interesting…
chocolate fountain

maybe I should experiment with it before Meghan’s party!

Blog, blog, blog…I need some inspiration…stuff I want to talk about but I can’t go outside and take pictures…hey the rhododendron is blooming and I can see that through my dining room windows…
rhododendron

I can see the perennial bed too…
perrenial bed

Not a great picture, but more complete looking than the last one I posted…I wonder why Flickr changed their layout…have to learn how to navigate it all over again while I post photos to this blog post…finally found the link to the archives that I complained to Kate about in my comment to this lovely post of hers…I wonder if blogspot users get notifications from wordpress users…Boy I really wish I could have been outside planting today…I hope my poor little plants aren’t getting drowned with all this rain…
waiting to be planted

At least I got the whiskey barrel planter done earlier this week, but still so much more to do…so much to do coming up soon…prom, graduation, recital, graduation party…at least I got the party invitations sent out…Inkgarden.com did such a nice job…

Ooh, hey, the bearded irises are budding…not as many buds out there as I’d like to see, darn it…
irises soon!

Wait a second, I thought I bought a pink foxglove for the perennial bed…that looks white…hmmm….

Not going to get any new pictures of the baby robins in all this rain…oh but hey! I do have a lovely picture of my baby girl to share this week…she’d probably hate it if she knew I just referred to her as “baby” girl…”Moooommmmmmm I am going to be 16 in 2 months”…oh don’t remind me…another with a driver’s license soon…so proud of her for receiving that computer award!…sophomore with highest grade point average in computer class…wahoo!…

Blogging, blogging, blogging…where will I find some inspiration? 😉

  2. Fun post. I am on Blogger and get email notifications of your new posts if that’s what you were asking about. One of your images is missing, the “waiting to be planted” one. We’ve had endless rain here too. Sun seems to be out today. Hope it finds you too.

    • Thank you Sybil. I was actually wondering whether bloggers on other servers received notices when a WordPress blogger links to a post on their blog. On WordPress, you receive a notification when a WordPress blogger hyperlinks to one of your posts. The sun is shining today so I will be headed outside soon to do some planting!

  3. The meandering thoughts inspiration is just delightful, as are the accompanying photos. Your pink/white foxgloves made me think of the first two lilacs I bought when we moved here – got them online, and one was purported to be “primrose”, a light yellow and the other a “sensation”, a darker purple rimmed in white. Looking out my window, they both look the standard lilac color to me.

    • Thanks Carol…. is this similar to having a wandering, elusive mind? 😉
I’ve never heard of a light yellow lilac before! That must be interesting to see – if it really actually grows that color!

      • There was a picture in the catalog. Since mine turned out to be lilac colored, I don’t know if it was real or “Photoshopped”.

  4. Aw, such pretty, pretty flower shots. I really can’t complain about the rains we’ve been having: for the past two summers, we’ve had severe droughts, so to see the grass this green and thick already is such a treat. Thanks for the shout out, too! Hope you had a great weekend! 🙂

    • Thanks Kate. I’m okay with having the rain now if it means I have a nice sunny summer coming up!

  5. Congrats to your girls! Can you believe after the frigid temps of last weekend it’s now blistering hot? Cuh-razy!

    • Thank you. A busy time in our household! We do live in New England – if you don’t like the weather, wait a minute! 😉

  6. Congratulations to both girls! One a drivers license and another graduation. Time is just flying by! Definitely need to practice with that chocolate fountain. For sure.

    • Well, no driver’s license yet – she won’t be 16 for two months – but we are pretty proud of that award!
      Thank you Dawn.

  7. So much of energy you have displayed here, Karen! We also have loads of rains here. Last night was terrible, heavy showers with thunders & lightning. The weather is still gloomy, But feels clean & fresh! Congratulations to your daughters, wishing them all the success.. I love your pictures. Thank you very much, I enjoyed the blog 🙂

    • Thank you Sonali. Here in New England, we often don’t know what to expect from the weather day to day. The pouring rain is done for now and we have blazing heat for the moment. Temperatures are supposed to go back down again in a couple days. Some times it is a bit of a rollercoaster ride.

  8. I thought I commented on this post, Karma, but it must have been one of those days when I was experiencing difficulties with the satellite internet connection and a I gave up. I really enjoyed your stream-of-consciousness writing. Beautiful images. 🙂

    • Thanks Robin. Sometimes writing down what is rambling through our heads makes for interesting blogging, doesn’t it?
