As so often happens to me when I am making my way around the blogosphere visiting all of you, I got inspired this morning. This time my inspiration came from Joanne at Home Life Online and this post of hers.

I’d like to use Joanne’s lovely post as the basis for a photo hunt. Many of you mentioned in the comments of my last post how much you enjoyed the photo hunts that I’ve posted in the past. I fell out of the habit in recent months, but Joanne’s post got me thinking. So here’s what I am proposing: Choose a color that you are drawn to. Post at least 3 photos (can be more if you like!) that feature this color in some way. Tell me what it is that draws you to this color. If you’d like, take it a step further and do a little research like Joanne did and find out some of the psychology of your chosen color.

I’m going to post a deadline of Sunday, April 28th for this photo hunt, but you know how I am about deadlines – it is more of a loose goal than a firm commitment. If you want to participate and you need more time, just let me know. As we have done in the past, leave me a link to your post in the comments of this post and I will do a wrap up post a few days after the deadline. It would be great if you could help me spread the word about this photo hunt to your own blog readers so that we can have lots of participation. Thanks, and I hope you have fun with your chosen color!

I love this idea, Karma, and will do my best to submit something. I may have to use my archives since I really shouldn’t be uploading new photos to this poor old laptop. It might overwhelm it. 🙂

As much as I am looking forward to seeing what you’ve done, I’m going to hold back until I post my own post. That’s the hard part of posting these photo hunts – it is difficult not visiting the posts that come in because I prefer not to be influenced by anyone else’s work. I’m loving this Karma, another photo hunt, and I was your inspiration, YAY! Thanks for the inspiration Joanne! I hope lots of folks decide to participate. And I know exactly how you feel about not wanting to be influenced by others – I have that issue each time I do one of these photo hunts. I know what color I wish to choose, but I’ve not yet decided what my photos will be, so I’m not quite ready to come and have a peek at your post!

Very cool! I want to take new photos…but will have to consider where I can find color in Michigan in April…this year. When most of our world is brown. But still…first I need to think about which color I’m most drawn to…..hmmmmmmm

It is unfortunate that things are still so brown 😦 . Perhaps a botanical garden or nursery could help you with some color? Maybe a mix of old and new photos would work for your post?

Hi Karma,
Many years ago I gave a seminar on marketing with color to a group of business people. Would you believe that 60% of our decisions regarding purchases have to do with how we feel about color? We take its impact on our lives for granted.
Yesterday I wrote a post about the color of dune grass. It’s probably the most sentimental thing I’ve written about color to date. Whether we realize it or not, color is personal. I’m far too late for your deadline and review, but please accept my contribution as a Post Script.
