It’s a Snow Day!

A snow day – otherwise you normally wouldn’t be hearing from me in the middle of a Wednesday morning.

I’m kind of surprised we have the day off today. It is only a few inches of snow, but then, the forecast is saying a “wintery mix” that could cause icy conditions later in the day. Either way, I am home for the day. Maybe a good day for taking pictures for Scott’s challenge!
I have some ideas for a picture or two I’d like to get so we’ll see.

In case you didn’t already see them, a few folks did decide to try the dinner photography blog along. A common theme for all of us was forgetting to take pictures before we sat down to eat!
If you aren’t super hungry at the moment, have a look at these posts by Deb, Robin, Dawn and Michaela. My post was the one I put up this past weekend, which I think most of you already saw.
Makes you wonder, how do those food bloggers do it? I guess it is just what you do if you food blog. My sister was quite the food blogger for a while there, but she seems uninspired lately.

Speaking of food, Meghan is currently making a mess and smoking up my kitchen with a late snow-day breakfast of bacon and French toast!

Hubby is out doing what you gotta do on a snow day:

(nice pop of police orange in the middle of all that white, huh? šŸ˜‰ )
And I am sitting here at the computer, writing a post and peeking in on all of you, wearing my sweats and slippers! Doesn’t that sound like the right thing to do for a snow day?

  1. Lucky, lucky you! I wouldn’t mind a snow day or two….or three šŸ™‚

    • Love going back to bed on a snow day! But come June I won’t be loving them so much, lol!

  2. Looks like the snow is melting on the black car. Just on freezing ? I hope you went out for a nice walk in the snow …

    • Nope, the snow had been there for a while already. Temps were in the mid-30’s by then. No walk in the snow that day. Too wet out for me – we had misty rain for the rest of the day after that.

  3. I envy you your snow. It’s freezing cold, but not one good snow so far this winter. : ( Send us some. Please?

    • You are welcome to the snow, Kate! Take it, please! šŸ™‚

  4. I love the picture of Cedric looking at the snow. I too am jealous of your snow day. Not of the snow…just the day off. šŸ™‚ That bacon Meghan has looks really really good too!

    • Yeah, a day off in the middle of the week is not a bad thing!

  5. Sounds like the perfect snow day. šŸ™‚ Your snow looks so pretty. No snow here. Just gray and wet, but we did have a phenomenal sunset tonight. (I am resisting acting like the dog in the television commercial who gets all excited and says, “Bacon!Bacon!Bacon!!”)

    Comment by Robin — January 16, 2013 @ 6:24 pm | Reply

    • LOL, we put words in our dogs’ mouths all the time and “BACON!!!” is commonly one of them. Really, you should hear the doggy conversations that go on around here! šŸ˜‰

  6. Snow days…wonderful. They hardly ever happen in banking. I think once. Or maybe not. I could be confused. I love that snow blower photo…would work great for Scott’s challenge…but now you’ve used it here…so you STILL have to go out and find something else that means winter! LOL!!!

I will go do a post on the sweet potato recipe….yummy yummy….

    • Yes, I do like a snow day every now and again – as long as they don’t interfere with my enjoyment of summer off!! Hmmm, well, we could not tell Scott that I already used that photo, right? šŸ˜‰
I will come check out the sweet potatoes!

  8. Snow days are nice for catching up…a real bonus. Love the last photo.

    • Catching up on sleep, catching up on coffee, catching up on blogging, catching up on housework… uh, no! LOL!
      Thanks Karen!

  9. A snow day sounds absolutely divine! I wouldn’t even mind having to go out in the “wintery mix”; it would be a new experience for me!

Love the photo at the top of puss, contemplating the snowy day. šŸ™‚

    • Thanks Joanne. A wintery mix usually isn’t pleasant. I think you would have enough of this new experience fairly quickly! Snow, rain and sleet generally combine to form the nasty mix.
