"Let it Snow" 2

My family and anyone else who knows me will be wondering about now just who hijacked Karen’s blog.  “Let it snow?” they would be wondering.  Karen doesn’t wish for snow!  Just what is going on here?

I will assure you, readers, friends, family, that it is indeed me, Karen, doing the writing here and not Mr. Cold Miser.  I did just, however, pick up these adorable snowman ornaments.  They are glass and sparkly and have opal-ly, snow-like sequins inside them.

"Let it Snow"

But I did recently tell both Robin and Kathy that I honestly wouldn’t mind just a bit of snow.  WHAT?!?  Yup, it’s true.  We have rain predicted here for at least the next 24 hours.  It’s been looking kind of ugly outside – dead plants, leafless trees, gray skies.  Just a touch of snow might just pretty things up a bit.  Nothing overboard now Mama Nature!  Enough to cover the lawn and the dead leaves would do nicely, thank you.

I’ve got my tree up

Christmas tree 2012

and a good amount of Christmas shopping done, so go ahead, let it snow – just a little bit!

    • Thanks Sybil, but it doesn’t look like my thinking is going to get us any white any time soon!

  2. I’m with you. Let is snow!! This rain we’ve been having is dreary stuff. I’m not particularly good at rainy winters (which is why I love snow so much). Those ornaments are so cute. And your tree is beautiful! 🙂

    • Thanks very much Robin. It is totally out of character for me, but a light coating would be just right.

  3. Be careful what you wish for. 🙂 I’m in your corner regarding cold and snow but a little bit of the white stuff would make things a little brighter.

    • Oh for sure! After last October, I’ll never wish for a significant amount of snow!

  4. I am sending out Christmas cards this year which say about the same thing. Am wondering if this is a wise thing to do… Good luck. May you get “enough” snow but not “too much”.

    • Thanks Kathy – enough but not too much sounds perfect. 🙂

  5. Like your snowman ornaments and your tree is beautiful – and it could snow as much as it wanted if only it would stay off the roads.

    • Thank you Carol. And would that just be the perfect solution – if the snow and ice and muck would just find its way off the road (and off the overhead wires would be good too, to prevent any power outages!)

  6. Karen…no thats not like you! I don’t want any snow unless I don’t have to go anywhere. It could snow for Christmas and then melt the day after.
Your tree is beautiful! It alway is but this one looks like such a pretty shape. I love the ornaments too!

    • Thank you. I think I’d just like a little pretty snow for picture taking and for my dogs to play in – it makes them so very happy!

  7. Such lovely ornaments and your tree is bee-U-tif-ful.

We are still waiting for the first real snow. Had a couple of dustings which promptly melt away. Just think, if the rain we have been experiencing was snow, you’d have your blanket of snow and then some. 🙂 Myself, I want snow. I had all sorts of winter photography planned last year so…LET IT SNOW! Please. 😀

    • Thank you Scott. I’d be okay with a “normal” winter – some snow without it getting too crazy. No one needs to be buried under several feet of the stuff! 😉

      • Still waiting for snow here on the 21st. The weather people are promising a white Christmas. I sure hope so…then a “normal” winter to follow would be good for nature.
