Searching for Color

Scott Thomas has a new photo assignment out for us this month called Color Composition.  I think I am going to find it a challenge.  I’ve just finished telling you about how challenging I find finding beauty in November to be.  So? you may say, Scott is allowing archived photos for this time around!  Yes, I reply, but usually I am so excited to share a photo with you that I find appealing, I’ve already published it here on the blog!  I found this photo that I took last month that could possibly fit the assignment, but I’m not sure.

Hmm, now I’ve gone and published it too!

So I’ll be keeping this assignment in mind over the next week and a half.  It is due on Wednesday, November 21st if you’d like to participate.

After all the strange recent weather (Hurricane Sandy, Winter Storm Athena) a pleasant three-day weekend with temperatures in the 50’s and 60’s is on tap for this area.  I’m hoping to take the poochachos for a much needed walk and I’m off to Pickity Place again tomorrow with my sister and our BFF.  I’m not sure what our day off from school on Monday will bring just yet.  How about you?  Have any interesting plans for the weekend?

  1. Just got back from a lovely (albeit chilly) walk with friends along a cliff, overlooking the Atlantic. Tomorrow will probably find a Remembrance Day Ceremony to attend at a Cenetaph.

  2. We have a 3 day weekend too! And it’s supposed to be warm! 🙂 Katie and I are headed for the park for sure. I will go over to Scott’s to see what the assignment is. Maybe I can find it out at the park!

  3. This is beautiful. I love the framing the darker, shadowed leaves provide to the vibrant orange tree. Nicely done.

  4. This is beautiful, Karma. The light, the shadows, the color… everything about it. I’m going to scoot over to Scott’s now to have a look at the assignment. Thanks for the heads up! 🙂

    • I had a delicious lunch yesterday, but it wasn’t quite what I was looking for to share in a photograph!

  6. It is so challenging to find color at this black & white & gray time of year. But, gosh, I did like that pic you posted. We had a lovely weekend, thank you, in that we finally finished splitting our wood and tarping our wood pile and celebrated with bagels and a toast.

    • Thanks Kathy – that picture was taken before things got so awfully black & white & gray. I remember reading your post about bagels and a toast (gee that rhymes!) but I didn’t have anything witty to say, lol!

      • Black and white doesn’t lend itself to wit, Karma… 🙂
