Braces Off!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Karma @ 8:43 am

Sarah had a big day this week!

  1. Congrats, Sarah!!! Being a ‘braces wearing alumni” ( 😉 ) I STILL can remember the day I got mine off! I smiled BIG for a week straight and recall how roomy my mouth felt! Her teeth look fantastic!!! 🙂

    • Thanks Tracy – she has been smiling an awful lot the last few days!

  2. That’s a lot of metal to have parked on your teeth. Must feel amazing to get them off. Congratulations !

    • She says it feels weird right now – good, of course – but she’s still getting used to not having all that metal!

    • Now we are into the retainer years! I’m guessing Melissa is too.

  4. Congrats! I bet that feels good. What’s the first thing she ate that she couldn’t eat before?

  5. I remember that day. I thought my teeth felt slippery and it was WONDERFUL!

    • She says it feels strange now for them not to be there, but she is definitely happy.

  6. You brought back such poignant memories of when our two kids got their braces off. Such milestone days! Tell her she looks so beautiful. (Of course she looked beautiful with the braces on, too.)

    • Thanks Kathy. She’s quite happy to have that part of her orthodontic time done. Retainers at night for 2 years now!

  7. I had my braces when I was in my 30s, and felt all grown up after I had it off. 🙂 The retainers at night is not so bad, and congrats to Sarah.

    • Wow, braces in your 30’s! I have a space in my teeth that has re-opened since having braces. I’ve wondered what it would be like to have them as an adult – but I think I’d go the “invisalign” route if I ever seriously thought about it.

  8. That’s great! It was a red letter day for each of my daughters when they came off, too.

  9. Congratulations to Sarah!! I remember the day I got my braces off – I got home, grabbed an apple, and BIT right into it! I had them on for almost 3 years!

    • Sarah was just over 2 years with hers. She’s been enjoying chewy candy ever since the big day.
