A week ago, I decided to accept the “Versatile Blogger Award” from Michaela and Amy. I scribbled down some notes about what my seven “reveals” would be and started writing.
I thought I had enough to say to create a week of posts, a la Amy. I rolled out and scheduled the first three fairly easily. Then I hemmed and hawed and wasn’t sure of some of my subjects. Was the one about the high school crush too much of a downer? (maybe it was; only a few commented) Was the one about the Big Bang Theory not really about me?
The subject of Saturday’s post was one that came to me fairly recently and became a real desire thanks to many of you! I’ve enjoyed reading about and seeing pictures from so many different places these past few years through your blogs. But what in the world was I going to write about for the seventh day? I hemmed, I hawed once again. I read blogs. I looked through photo albums. I curled up on the couch and tried to think or perhaps meditate on this. I read some more blogs. Then I read this one of Kathy’s. I even commented on Kathy’s post about how I was still reaching for elusive #7. Suddenly, it dawned on me.
My final reveal about me became obvious: I am absolutely terrible about making decisions!!! And I’m not talking about huge, life-changing decisions (well I’m horrific at those too, but luckily those don’t come along very often) but little, daily decisions. What should I eat? Should I go for a walk? Do I let the children do such-and-such for such-and-such a reason? Should I write a blog about that?
I examine things from a zillion different sides and sometimes probably create sides that didn’t even exist before I started thinking about them. I ask my poor husband a ridiculous amount of questions. And if it is a decision about whether to buy something – watch out! Even if it is something I’ve desired for a long time, I question my decision to purchase, even after it is done. How many of you remember my struggle with the decision to purchase a DSLR, and then deciding which one?
And so there you have it, dear readers, 7 things you didn’t know about me ( or maybe you did). It was an interesting week of posts. Or maybe it wasn’t. I don’t know, I can’t decide… 😉
