7 Things about Me, Day 3

Filed under: Uncategorized — Karma @ 6:00 am

As long as I’ve been on the subject of high school, here’s a funny confession for Day 3.  Hopefully my sister and my BFF won’t kill me for posting this.  When we were teenagers, Jennifer, Renae and I absolutely loved music videos.  Our town didn’t  have many choices for cable TV, and we were terribly disappointed that MTV was not an option for us.  We used to go around exclaiming “I want my MTV!!!!”  We stayed up late on weekends watching Friday Night Videos on NBC and Night Flight on USA network to get our fill.

One day, Renae’s stepdad bought a video camera.  Bored teenagers in the summertime started scheming.  Let’s make our own music videos!  None of us had any musical talent, but we could lip-sync.  We went through our wardrobes and found clothing so that we could dress up as a variety of 80’s music groups: The Power Station, Bananarama, A-Ha, and Robert Palmer’s famous “Addicted to Love” video fell victim to us.  As far as I know, Renae still has possession of those videos on VHS tapes.  Here we are dressed as A-Ha:

Here’s a link to a photo of the look we were shooting for  and the video they were most famous for, in case you have no idea what I am talking about!
