February is a short month – it is time for me to get hopping (or should I say “leaping”?) on this month’s photo hunt! I’ve been trying to think of words for the hunt that will make you think creatively. I don’t know about where you are, but around here, it has been a strangely mild, relatively snowless winter. Photographically, I find this rather challenging; there’s been little of interest outside for me – not much snow, frost or ice to make things look pretty and of course nothing is in bloom in New England. It kind of feels like November all over again, but with no turkey dinner to look forward to!
This month’s list may seem rather mundane, but it is my hope you will interpret as creatively as possible!
- flake
- bow
- mug
- row
- bun
- And because it is February, look for heart shapes in unusual places! I’m not talking about boxes of candy here. Include as many as you’d like.
Bonus: leap – in honor of “leap day” at the end of this month

Copied the list to my iPhone and am ready to go. Might have to get very creative on the first one since there is currently not a flake of snow on the ground around here. The photo you used here is awesome!
