“Hondo”

Filed under: Uncategorized — Karma @ 3:01 pm

I’ve been a little blue this week.  A very sweet man lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on Tuesday morning.  He was the father of my best friend and the kind of guy who’d give you the shirt off his back.  Goodbye “Cooked” – you will be missed.

  5. That’s hard. Such a difficult thing to let go of a father, or the father of a friend. Especially a sweet father. Hugs to you and to your friend. I’m so sorry.

  6. Losing someone you care about is very difficult. Perhaps though, after battling cancer, he is more comfortable now? Cancer is a mean mean disease.

  8. Thanks everyone. I am home from the funeral and all cried out. He had many friends and family who loved him very much and at least now his pain is over.

  13. I’m so sorry to hear about your loss, Karen. This was a lovely tribute.

My stepmother-in-law had pancreatic cancer too. It seems all too common lately. 😦

    • It is certainly a scary cancer (well, ALL cancers are scary!) From what I’ve heard, it seems to be one of those that when it is diagnosed, it is usually too late.
