A Couple Spring Like Days

Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans, right? Yesterday and today in these parts, we were treated to above normal temperatures that definitely boded of spring.  Most of the snow in my yard is even melted!  I made plans to make the most of it.  My plans for after work today: 1)walk the dogs – check! 2) come up with a dinner plan involving the grill – check!  3)enjoy grilled dinner – check! 3) briefly refresh my memory for a presentation I have to make for my class tomorrow – check…. uh, no. Disaster!  Program I needed?  Completely eaten by my computer.  Which then completely unravelled my other plans for the evening: write a blog post, catch up with other folks’ blog posts, watch Tuesday night’s Glee on DVR with my daughters.  Spent all that time finding other programs for my presentation.  GRRRRRR!

I wanted to tell you about the lovely afternoon I spent yesterday drinking my first iced coffee of the year and experimenting with different close-up shots for Scott’s assignment this month.  I wanted to tell you about the adventurous walk Meghan, Daphne, Teddy and I took in the melting woods this afternoon.  I wanted to share some more pictures from the gorgeous spring bulb show I attended last weekend.  After scrabbling to get presentation material together for tomorrow, I felt the need to de-stress a little and smash some balls on Zuma Blitz on Facebook.

Since I’ve calmed myself enough to write this blog post, I guess I could just show you some pictures now, couldn’t I?

Meghan with Teddy and Daphne… yes, she was wearing shorts and a t-shirt today!

And now for some more pretty, flowery-type objects:

I’ve got some other shots I’m holding back for Scott’s assignment.  I’m looking forward to catching up with everyone tomorrow…. after I make my *&#$ presentation!

E.T.A. (Saturday afternoon): I got my presentation done.  It didn’t go off without a hitch, but I ended up facilitating a lively discussion!  All’s well that ends well.

  1. Happy spring!!! I think spring is pretty much over in these parts and we’re into early summer, with temps in the 80’s. Would have been nice to have a few more weeks of 70’s.
Good luck with your presentation, hope it goes well!

    • I’d like to have temps just remain where they were for the past 2 days for the rest of spring, but unfortunately for us, temps will go the other direction. Expected daytime highs for the next 10 days are only in the 40’s 😦

  2. Nice to see spring–I had to laugh at the carrots. Around here they would have been eaten right off the penguins by the marauding deer, and anything the deer left behind would have been munched right up by the raccoons and possums and porcupines and squirrels and whitefooted mice. Hm. Just as an experiment I should put a carrot out there and time it.

I wish you luck with the presentation, but isn’t it a bit late to do one on snow? 😉

    • Honestly I’m surprised those carrots were snatched up by a squirrel or raccoon or something!
Let me know if you try the carrot experiment; I’m curious.

  3. OH NO !!.. And that covers both the presentation AND those poor poor penguins.. lol.. Well I sure do hope you managed to complete whatever you could for your presentation… and hooray for spring too, as we have also had some t-shirt weather today… and I also even took a macro of a flowery type thing… 😉

    • Thanks Brian. The presentation actually went well. Presenting technology to a group of teachers made for a lively discussion – I wasn’t without some issues, but I did manage to get it done.

  4. Isn’t the warmer weather great? 🙂

Your flowers are gorgeous. When I saw the carrots, before reading the caption, I thought, “Snow penguin remains.” lol! Glad your presentation ended well in spite of all the hitches.

    • The warmer weather was nice for a couple days – but it was only a tease, I fear. Daytime temps back into the 40’s for the coming week. 😦 As long as we don’t get any more accumulating snow, I will try not to complain!
Thanks Robin. The carrots were pretty funny, weren’t they?

  5. Your dogs don’t eat the carrots? The weather sure was lovely wasn’t it? It makes the 40’s and 50’s seem downright freezing. Amazing what a couple of warm days will do to the bloodstream and psyche. Glad your presentation is over. That must be a huge relief!

    • My dogs don’t consider carrots food, LOL! They always think they want carrots when I drop a piece on the floor by accident, but then they just end up spitting them out!
Yes, yes – very happy the presentation is over.
