Woo-hoo! 60° in February! With the winter we’ve had so far, this was something to celebrate! And a chance to get outside and enjoy while it lasts. Our piles of snow are still with us, but lucky for our roof, they are starting to melt.
Drip..
Drip…
Drip!
It was a good day for taking the duo for a walk with the new boots. Andre was grouchy that I left him home for this one. I wished I had brought him (of course) when I saw this huge puddle on one of the side streets we passed:
(I took this one with my phone) Daphne and Teddy thought it was time to go for a swim!
Back at home, I took Andre out to look around to see if we could find any signs of life, like Kathy’s pussy willows or Robin’s green shoots.
Enough snow has still not moved aside to see much of anything, but I did see these:
Lilac buds! One of my spring favorites. I won’t smell their perfume until May, but it’s nice to dream.
There was also water in my newly-uncovered-with-snow birdbath:
Liquid water everywhere! So nice to see instead of ice! I even could see…
me! Do you see me?
How about now?
Unfortunately, it seems our “thaw” will be over tomorrow. Temps for this area are forecast to be back to seasonable over the next week (my school vacation week!) in the mid 30’s. No school means plenty of time for blogging, photography and hopefully, more outdoor adventures. I’ll be working on that Photography Scavenger Hunt – I hope you are too!
It was a glorious two days! I’m sorry for you that they didn’t fall on the weekend but the forecast isn’t too bad, at least it will be sunny. I’m sorry that I can’t do the scavenger hunt, just too many photo projects going on currently.

I enjoyed what I could of the 2 days. I’m hoping something fun to do (and photograph) pops up during the week. No biggie on the scavenger hunt – if you are already neck deep in photo stuff, then you don’t need this to help get you going!

Wow, looks like you will have quite the mess on your hands when all this snow melts! I’m crossing my fingers that you won’t get any fresh snow with those colder temps…. how about I’ll send you our 81 degrees from yesterday? 😉
I looove lilacs!! Can’t wait for you to post pictures when they’re in bloom. Enjoy your week off!

81 degrees sounds about perfect to me! Believe me, I do wish that we were flying off to somewhere with temperatures like that for this week!

I love your self-portrait! Great reflection. Lilacs are one of my favorite spring flowers, too. They have such a wonderful scent.
It’s cold here today, with snow in the forecast for Monday. I imagine it will be coming your way soon. Enjoy your thaw. 🙂
Thanks for the link!

Thanks Robin. The cold is back here too. No snow forecast though – thank goodness!

That is a pretty nice picture taken of the water with your phone. Andre might be jealous! It was not as warm on Cape Cod yesterday. They said 50 but it felt cold. I also love the self portrait in the water!

There’s a saying that goes,”The best camera is the one you have with you!”
The temps are back to “winter” here. Our little thaw is over.
Thanks Mom.

Something in the air announces Spring, here too, although this morning rain and a few snow flakes are swirling together. Lovely pictures and portrait !

Merci, Isa. Il a estimé que le printemps pour quelques jours, mais maintenant l’hiver est de retour.

A lilac bud! How sweet! Our thaw is all over…done, kaput. We had howling 50-60 mph winds on Friday and now it’s back in the 20’s and brrrr…. I love your pictures, Karen. Hope you thoroughly enjoyed the thaw!

Yep, it is definitely over here too. We had those howling winds yesterday and my current temp at 9:30 this morning is 20 degrees.
Thanks, Kathy.
P.S. I’d love to see your take on the photo scavenger hunt too if you are so inclined! 🙂

I’m considering it, Karma…but, as you know, have had blog-challenges recently. Don’t know if I could do it right now. But will let you know if I decide to play! Those kind of scavenger hunts can be fun.
