Practicing Food Photos

Last night I did something I don’t usually do.  I made homemade bread!  I thought this unusual occasion deserved a photo or two.  I tried to keep in mind the tips that Ivoryhut offered over at Scott’s place; unfortunately, natural light was out of the question by the time the bread was done.  Overhead recessed lights and the nifty-fifty however, allowed me to avoid flash.

Tasty looking, huh?  If you are not familiar with this simplest of bread recipes, take yourself over to the Ivoryhut and find out just how easy it is.

  1. Looks delicious! I’ll have to try that recipe.

    • Definitely gives you a wonderful crispy crust – although a bit heavy on the inside. There’s so little work involved, a little heaviness is okay by me.

  2. I can almost smell it, it looks so good! That is one beautiful loaf of bread. 🙂

  3. Nice pictures! I think on the first two I would like to see more cutting board though. Was there any left? You could take some natural light pics in the next hour!

    • Thanks! That’s actually my pizza piel – fresh from grabbing the bread off the stone in the oven.
I did just try a few pics in natural light of the half-loaf. Meh. The light may not have been strong enough this time of day.

  4. I remember baking bread. It smelled really good, and it tasted even better. Sometimes it even looked this good. And in all that time it never occurred to me or anyone else to take a picture. Rob the Firefighter will never believe that I used to do it. I think you should make another loaf so that you can take another picture like #1, with more cutting board this time–I agree with Jennifer about that–and then we should sit down and eat it. “We?” I can hear you asking. Yes. I will bring the butter.

    • Actually, I have more dough in the fridge to make another loaf anytime! C’mon over! You can tell me stories about your veterans. 😉

  5. I haven’t baked bread in YEARS!!! It looks delicious! I want to see it sliced (not just cut in half) to show off the inside. 🙂

    • This recipe is truly easy if you want to do some baking Michaela. I did try some pictures of the half-loaf yesterday, but I regret to inform you the rest of the loaf was eaten before slices could be shown! 😉

  6. […] either.  But enough with the excuses!  So what did I take pictures of?  Well, there was those bread pics a couple weeks ago, which you can go have a look at in case you missed them.  For my pictures today […]
