Picture Fall, day 18

The prompt of the day wanted us to take a picture of our photographic muse.  This may not be the most creative picture ever, but it is honest.  Those of you who’ve been reading fairly regularly since summer know how I hemmed and hawed and agonized over the purchase of my first DSLR.  I’ve been so very happy with my photography since I took the plunge, I have no regrets.   I happily tote along the extra weight of the camera and couple of lenses for the freedom and flexibility that I’ve found.

  1. Each photograph is a gift, for you and for others. If our house was burning down I’d first get out the kids and the dog (and maybe the cat), then my external hard drive and finally my dslr.

    • I gotta get me one of them external drives! 😉 The computer is quickly loading up with photos and I have been through far too many hard drive failures in this life. Many, but certainly not all, images are stored on line as well, but I’d feel better with that extra drive.

  2. So glad you’re happy with your camera (even if it IS a Canon 😉 )
Great pic…. my favorite kind of self portrait.

    • I think this might be your only kind of self portrait, Michaela! 😉

  3. Fun picture! I remember reading at Kathy’s when you got your new camera – glad it’s still making you smile 🙂

    • I hope it keeps making me smile for a long time – and hopefully other folks too!

  4. So glad you’re still loving your new camera… but then I knew you wouldn’t regret it anyway… And that is one tough photo prompt for sure… I’d have been totally stuck if I had to take a shot using that prompt.. I still think you’re cheating though, hiding like that… lol..

    • Nope, nope, not cheating! The camera is my muse, not myself, so it’s totally fair! 😉

  5. You have been quickly changing my mind about the DSLR plunge. Glad to hear you and your new camera are getting along so well. 🙂

    Great self-portrait!

    • Wow, Robin! Isn’t it amazing how we bloggers influence each other? You already take very lovely shots with your P&S, I can only imagine what you may do some day with a DSLR. The opinions around the blogosphere seem to be to go with Canon or Nikon if you do make the jump.
