Two Sides of Sarah

Filed under: Uncategorized — Karma @ 3:24 pm

I have lots of pictures and thoughts to share in some upcoming blog posts, but first I must say “Happy Birthday” to my younger daughter, Sarah.  My baby is 13 this year, officially a teenager.  I cannot take credit for these pictures; Sarah’s sister Meghan (15) took them.  I just loved the way these shots from our camping trip this past weekend reflected two completely different, but yet “very Sarah” moods.

  1. Happy Birthday to Sarah! Wow, the Mom of 2 teenagers — good luck! Oh, and pass on survival tips to me in about 10 years 😉

    • Well, I haven’t quite survived it yet, but we’re dealing with it so far!

  2. Oh this is great! The two faces of Sarah! Oh this describes teenage-ism to the core. OK, maybe add a few more faces. Come to think of it, maybe it describes adulthood, too. Hope you have a great day! Hope you have a great six to seven years…

    • Thanks for the well-wishes. Hopefully we all come out of the upcoming years as healthy, self-assured women -with as much of my hair in place as possible! 😉

  3. Oh. My. Look at those Big Blue Eyes. You do have such beautiful children.

Imagine that you have slooooow dialup and that you are reading the paper as the blog loads. Seriously, that slooooow. Anyway, every now and then you glance up to check on progress. First there are the arresting Big Blue Eyes. Wow, you think, Sarah is all grown up.

The hands appear. Oh my. A serious pose indeed. And so, Ms. Sell, tell me more about how you managed to . . . (fill in the blank about my bad behavior–there are so many choices).

The cards emerge, and the phone. Now I am laughing, and I haven’t even gotten to the next photo. I predict a serious career in media for Meghan, and numerous starring roles for Sarah.

Happy Birthday to all. Oh. My.

    • Like your blog, your comments are very expressive and entertaining! You have an inimitable writing style, Gerry – thank you for gracing my blog with it. I even called the birthday girl into the room to come read this.

  7. Happy birthday to Sarah. My son just turned 10…I really like that top photo! It captures the card player, doesn’t it? And the ubiquitous teenage girl’s phone right there…love it!

    • Yes, I love these captures – perhaps captures only a sister could have gotten. Thank you.

  8. Happy Birthday Sarah! These are wonderful candids. Seems your daughter Meghan has some photographic talent! 🙂

    • I don’t think these were true “candids” – Sarah seems to ham it up when her sister’s camera is out! Every now and then Meghan captures something really great, and I have caught her eye-balling my old camera since I got the new one!

  9. I hope my look-alike/niece/goddaughter had a great day yesterday! Great pictures. I texted her yesterday but didn’t hear back – she must not have known who it was from!

    • She’s really having a “birthday week!” She celebrated with friends while camping, with Craig and me Sunday night, at dance camp yesterday, will have a kid party this coming Saturday and our little cookout on Sunday! I’ll mention the text to her this afternoon when she gets home.
